Christmas Wishes

For a while I thought about doing an event about Christmas miracles. I know cliche, but when you think about it...it's more understandable to have a talk about that during this time of year than any other time.  I want to talk about Christmas Wishes.

My little girl Carolyne had a doll house she played with all the time before our house burned down. She loved this little house. Everyday she would have the mommy doll feed and play with the baby doll and they would pretend to go for walks and even read. When the fire hit, the doll house melted down to nothing.
The most wonderful thing happened last Christmas. John and I were invited to this little house called Grandma's toys. The walls of the house were lined with toys. Some of them were gently used while others brand new. An entire room was especially set up for stuffed animals and another room had any board game you could think of. The place is set up for families who have a difficult time at Christmas. Some how, they heard about the doll house that Carolyne had.
I remember feeling a little hesitant about what I was walking into. I mean really, I didn't ask for any help and planned on making sure all the kids had Christmas. When I walked in, a woman approached me.
"You're Joann, right?" she asked.
"Yes," I said.
The thing is, I had never seen this person in town before so I had no idea who she was. She motioned me to follow her into a small room in the back and sitting there was a beautiful doll house, twice the size of the one Carolyne had before. Attached to the little house was a note that read, "This is for the little angel who lost hers in a fire. I know she's going to love it." That was it, nothing else, not even a name.
So touched with emotion, tears began to form in my eyes. It was the one thing Carolyne wanted for Christmas and the one thing I couldn't afford to get her.
How the woman knew my name and who the doll house came from I will never know. What I do know is Carolyne loves it. She plays with it all the time. It has filled her life with so much joy and imagination, that I would never be able to repay the kindness. I will always want to know who sent it just for her and how the woman knew my name. The one thing I do know is I think of the kindness every time she plays with it.

Christmas wishes are those that we think no one knows about and they happen anyways. They are dreams, big and small and more often then not they aren't expressed. Carolyne's Christmas Wish was fulfilled by a stranger. I still want to know who it was. If you know, please tell me so I can thank them for making my little girl so happy.

Merry Christmas to all out there...I hope that all your wishes come true. Please don't hesitate to drop me  a line letting me know all about it. Those are always the BEST messages to receive!! Huge hugs to all!!!
